Health and Safety Policy Statement
Health, Safety and Environmental Protection
It is the policy of Chard Construction Limited to ensure that the working conditions within the organisation are safe and healthy for our employees and that our operations are carried out in such a manner that the health safety and welfare of all persons concerned, directly or indirectly, is not adversely affected. We also accept our responsibility to minimise the environmental impact of our operations by promoting sustainable development, minimising waste, pollution prevention and acting as good neighbours.
Our aim is to eliminate accidents and harm to people, the environment and the business. We will comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and any subordinate legislation as it applies to our operations. We will refer to Approved Codes of Practice, official guidance and industry best practice and work with employees, clients, contractors and regulators in order to maintain standards. Our performance will be monitored and reviewed periodically to promote continual improvement.
This policy is the direct concern of all employees. Senior managers are responsible for its implementation through the board of directors who will provide for the necessary financial and physical resources. Directors and managers are required to promote this policy in all employees as an integral part of good management.
The organisational structure and arrangements necessary to affect this policy are contained within documented management systems. We will appoint competent individuals and seek independent expert advice as necessary to achieve our aims. Duty holders will be provided with the necessary information, instruction, supervision and training to perform their function and continual professional development will be encouraged.
This policy and the supporting management systems will be reviewed periodically to reflect any changes within the company, regulatory requirements or industry best practice.
